| Sun Lik Beer Glassed |
The Pour:
When poured from the bottle the beer is a clear light brown/orange colour. What tiny head that formed in the pouring very quickly dissipated completely. I was in the middle of writing notes on the colour of the beer when l looked back to see that the head was already gone. I poured the first half of the beer with the glass at 45o, and then poured the rest in at 90o to try and generate a head without overflowing the glass.
The Nose:
This beer has a mildly yeasty and a slightly fruity nose. This fruitiness behind the yeasty, bready notes maybe Cape gooseberry with a slightly hoppy edge to the nos.
The Taste:
The malt barley, hops, rice and spring water create a fanatically crisp taste. This has a slightly sweet bready taste with subtle slightly fruity after taste.
Accompanying Food:
Sun Lik Beer takes its inspiration from the East, using rice in combination with the traditional ingredients of beer (barley, hops and water) does give this beer a uniquely Asian taste, which will be the perfectly complement to all types of Chinese meals.
Recommended:
Yes, I would have no problem recommending this beer to anyone; this is a very pleasant beer which will surprise most with its flavour which is pleasant with a slightly hoppy and fruity after taste.
